If not, you&#8217;re in good company\u2014and that&#8217;s exactly what the big tech giants are counting on.   <\/b>\n\nThese license agreements are deliberately written in impenetrable legal jargon that gives even experts a headache. They are extremely long and worded in a complicated manner to trick users into accepting them without reading them. \n\nBehind these walls of text often lies a systematic restriction of your digital autonomy. Since providers can assume that hardly anyone understands or reads the terms and conditions, they grant themselves considerable leeway in them: <br><br><ul>\n \t<li><b>Unilateral changes to services:<\/b> Providers reserve the right to modify the software\u2019s functionality at any time or to remove key features without replacement (e.g., the removal of export functions), and you have no right to object.<\/li>\n \t<li>\n<b>Data Use for AI Training:<\/b> Many modern EULAs allow providers to automatically use the data you enter and the content you create to train their own algorithms or advertising systems.\n<\/li>\n \t<li><b>Exclusion of interoperability:<\/b> Clauses may prohibit linking the software with third-party programs. This forces you into a closed ecosystem (<b>vendor lock-in<\/b>). <\/li>\n \t<li>\n<b data-path-to-node=\"2,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Unannounced account suspension:<\/b> The EULA often allows providers to immediately suspend access in the event of &#8220;violations&#8221; of vaguely worded rules of conduct. Since the software is usually only rented (SaaS) and not purchased, you immediately lose access to your work environment. \n<\/li>\n \t<li>\n<b>Jurisdiction abroad:<\/b> By designating a jurisdiction outside the EU (e.g., the U.S.), it becomes nearly impossible for small businesses to enforce their rights to their own data, both financially and legally.\n<\/li>\n \t<li>\n<b>Limited ownership rights:<\/b> Many contracts explicitly state that you do not own the software, but are merely purchasing a temporary license. This means that if the provider discontinues the service (see the Microsoft DRM example), you have no right to a working offline copy. \n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nWith many EULAs, you relinquish control over your data even before the first program window opens.
