In this article you will learn how to connect your Webflow website to a helloly domain. Below are instructions for customers without web hosting (domain only). Further down, you'll find instructions for customers with web hosting or mail-only packages.

Domain without Web Hosting

1. Domain-only Package: How to connect your helloly domain to your Webflow website

• Log in to your Webflow website
• Go for All sites, move your cursor over the desired website and click onto the gear symbol (Site settings)
  
  
  
  
• Now first select the Publishing option in the left-hand menu and then click on Add a custom domain
  
  
  
  
• From the drop-down menu, select Manually add domain
  
  
  
  
• Now enter the desired domain that you want to connect to Webflow and click on Add domain
  
  
  
  
• Webflow will now present you with the necessary DNS entries that you need to enter in the helloly customer center.
  
  
  
  
• Now switch to the helloly client area at my.helloly.com
• In the menu on the left, first select Domains and then My Domains
  
  
  
  
• Now click on the tool icon next to the desired domain and select Manage Domain
  
  
  
  
• Now select DNS Management in the right-hand menu
  
  
  
  
• Now create the four entries marked in the screenshot one after the other in the DNS administration. You can only create one entry at a time. A new line for a new entry appears with Save Changes.

  • ... you insert a dot at the end of the address for the CNAME entry.

  • ... you only need to enter the TXT type entry once

  • ... the quotation marks are automatically added to the TXT entry

• Click on Save Changes
• Congratulations, you have successfully linked your helloly domain with Webflow!

Domain with Web Hosting / Mail-only

Webhosting and Mail-only Package: How to connect your helloly domain with your Webflow website

• Log into your Webflow website
• Under All sites, move the mouse over the desired website and click on the gear symbol (Site settings)
  
  
  
  
• Now first select the Publishing option in the left-hand menu and then click on Add a custom domain
  
  
  
  
• From the drop-down menu, select Manually add domain
  
  
  
  
• Now enter the desired domain that you want to connect to Webflow and click on Add domain
  
  
  
  
• Webflow will now present you with the necessary DNS entries, which you must enter in the helloly customer center.
  
  
  
  
• Now switch to the helloly customer center at my.helloly.com
• In the Dashboard, under Your Active Products/Services, click Log in to cPanel next to the desired product
  
  
  
  
• In the cPanel, scroll to Domains and then select the Zone Editor
  
  
  
  
• In the zone editor, click Manage next to the desired domain
  
  
  
  
• First delete the four highlighted entries and then click on +Add Record
  
  
  
  
• Now add the entries according to the Webflow instructions. To do so, click on Save Record

Do you already know the helloly Website Builder? This is included in every hosting package. If you want to switch from Webflow back to helloly, proceed as follows:

• Access the helloly customer center via my.helloly.com
• Select the desired package in the Dashboard area under Your Active Products/Services and click Log in to cPanel
  
  
  
  
• Now open the Zone Editor in the cPanel under Domains
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Manage for the desired domain inthe Zone Editor
  
  
  
  

• A warning now appears: "If you reset your zone file, all changes you have made to your zone data records will be deleted. The system will attempt to retain the TXT entries. However, we recommend that you make a note of all the entries you wish to save. Do you really want to delete all entries and reset to the default?"

  If you have made any other changes apart from the changes for Webflow, make a note of them before clicking Next.

• You have now successfully reset your settings and can host your website via helloly again or use the website builder.
