How do I create an SRV entry in the DNS?

With an SRV entry, you can use DNS to specify which IP-based services a domain offers. Further information is provided for each service, for example the server name that provides this service.

A service is identified by the name and the protocol appended with a dot. Both the name and the protocol are preceded by a _. This prevents confusion with other domain names.

Important: The entries for _Service. und _Server. must be closed with a .!

Structure of an SRV entry:

_Service._Protocol.Domain. SRV Weighting Port Server. TTL Priority

Beispiel:

_autodiscover._tcp.YourDomain.at. SRV 0 443 webmail.YourDomain.at. 3600 0
