In this article you will learn how to connect your Squarespace website to a helloly domain. Below are instructions for customers without web hosting (domain only). Further down, you'll find instructions for customers with web hosting or mail-only packages.

Domain without Web Hosting

Domain-only package: How to connect your helloly domain with your Squarespace website

• Log in to your Squarespace website
• Click on Settings in the menu at the bottom right
  
  
  
  
• Now select Domains & Email and then select Domains

   

  
  
  

• Next, click on Use a Domain I own
  
  

  
  
  

• Now enter your helloly domain and click on the arrow
  
  

  
  
  

• Now click on Connect Domain
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Connect Domain
  
  
  
  
• Squarespace will now show you which DNS settings you need to set for helloly
  
  
  
  
• Open a new tab or a new browser window and access the helloly client area via my.helloly.com
• Now select Domains and then My domains in the left-hand navigation bar
  
  
  
  
• Now click on the tool icon for the desired domain and select Manage Domain
  
  
  
  
• Now select DNS Management in the right-hand navigation menu
  
  
  
  
• Now create the individual records one after the other. After each new record, click on Save Changes to create another record
  Pay attention to the point after verify.squarespace.com. and ext-cust.squarespace.com.
  
  
  
  
• After you have created the last record, you have successfully linked your domain-only package with Squarespace

Webhosting / Mail-only

Hosting and Mail-only Package: How to connect your helloly domain with your Squarespace website

• Log in to your Squarespace website
• Click on Settings in the menu at the bottom right
  
  
  
  
• Now select Domains & Email and then select Domains

   

  
  
  

• Next, click on Use a Domain I own
  
  

  
  
  

• Now enter your helloly domain and click on the arrow
  
  

  
  
  

• Now click on Connect Domain
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Connect Domain
  
  
  
  
• Squarespace will now show you which DNS settings you need to set for helloly
  
  
  
  
• Open a new tab or a new browser window and access the helloly client area via my.helloly.com
• In the Dashboard, click on Log in to cPanel under Your Active Products/Services for the desired package
  
  
  
  
• In the cPanel, scroll down to Domains and then click on Zone Editor
  
  
  
  
• In the Zone Editor, click on Manage next to the desired domain
  
  
  
  

• Now you need to edit, delete and add some entries. The numbering refers to the screenshot:
  
  
  
  

  • Click on Edit at 1. and enter the IP address (Required Data) of a in the Record field

  • Click on Delete at 2.

  • Click on Edit at 3. and enter the Domain (Required Data) of b in the Record field

  • Click on Add Record at 4., select A as the type here and enter the IP address (Required Data) of c in the Record field

  • Click on Add Record at 4., select A as the type here and enter the IP address (Required Data) of d in the Record field

  • Click on Add Record at 4., select A as the type here and enter the IP address (Required Data) of e in the Record field

  • Click on Add Record at 4., select CNAME as the type here and enter the Domain (Required data) of f in the Record field and the code (Host) in the Name field

• Congratulations, you have successfully connected your helloly domain to Squarespace!

Do you already know the helloly Website Builder? This is included in every hosting package. If you want to switch from Squarespace back to helloly, proceed as follows:

• Access the helloly customer center via my.helloly.com
• Select the desired package in the Dashboard area under Your Active Products/Services and click Log in to cPanel
  
  
  
  
• Now open the Zone Editor in the cPanel under Domains
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Manage for the desired domain inthe Zone Editor
  
  
  
  

• A warning now appears: "If you reset your zone file, all changes you have made to your zone data records will be deleted. The system will attempt to retain the TXT entries. However, we recommend that you make a note of all the entries you wish to save. Do you really want to delete all entries and reset to the default?"

  If you have made any other changes apart from the changes for Squarespace, make a note of them before clicking Next.

• You have now successfully reset your settings and can host your website via helloly again or use the website builder.
