Important note

To connect your domain from helloly to your Jimdo website, Jimdo offers two options:
Via CNAME or via Change Nameserver. We only recommend the option via CNAME!

Why the option via CNAME?

• If you use email with your helloly hosting package, only the option via CNAME eliminates the conversion of MX/SPF records and your DKIM record is still in the DNS. Emails with a valid DKIM signature are rated positively, especially by large mail portals such as Gmail, which improves the reputation of your emails.
• For all domain-relevant topics, helloly's Austrian support is only available for the option via CNAME
• As a domain-only customer, you can only upgrade to an e-mail-only package with the option via CNAME - and at a reasonable price of € 1.50 per month
• As a domain-only customer, you can only upgrade to a hosting package with the option via CNAME

Domain only: How to connect your helloly domain with your Jimdo website

If you have a domain only package with helloly, you can connect your Jimdo website in this way:

• Get started with your Jimdo website
• Scroll down the Dashboard to the section Even more tools to boost your business and click on Domain
  
  
  
  
• Click on Forwarding for Domain Forwarding
  
  
  
  
• Now enter your existing helloly domain and click Next
  
  
  
  
• Close the info window by clicking on the X in the top right-hand corner
  
  
  
  
• Now open the helloly client area at my.helloly.com in a new tab or browser window
• Now select Domains and then My domains in the left-hand navigation bar
  
  
  
  
• Now click on the Tool icon for the desired domain and select Manage Domain
  
  
  
  
• Now select DNS Management in the right-hand navigation menu
  
  

• Then create a new record of the type URL Redirect, enter your domain including https:// as the address and click on Save Changes
  Finally, create a new record of type CNAME, enter web.jimdo.com. as the address. (Attention: The dot at the end of the domain is important!) and click on Save Changes
  
  
  
  

• Congratulations, you have successfully connected your Jimdo website to your domain-only package.

Webhosting / Mail-only

Hosting and mail-only package: How to connect your helloly domain with your Jimdo website

• Get started with your Jimdo website
• Scroll down the Dashboard to the section Even more tools to boost your business and click on Domain
  
  
  
  
• Click on Redirect for Domain Forwarding
  
  
  
  
• Now enter your existing helloly domain and click Next
  
  
  
  
• Close the info window by clicking on the X in the top right-hand corner
  
  
  
  
• Now access the helloly customer center via my.helloly.com
• In the Dashboard, under Your Active Products/Services, click on Open in cPanel for the desired hosting package
  
  
  
  
• Scroll down to Domains and click on Zone Editor
  
  
  
  
• In the Zone Editor, click Manage next to the desired domain
  
  
  
  
• In the CNAME line where your domain begins with www and ends with a dot, click Edit and change the record to web.jimdosite.com
  
  
  
  
• Switch back to the cPanel by clicking on Tools
  
  
  
  
• Scroll to Domains and click on Redirects
  
  
  
  
• Now select the Permanent (301) Type and enter your domain without www in the https?://(www.)? enter your domain without www. For Redirect to, enter your domain including https://www. For www redirect: select Redirect with or without www
  
  
  
  
• Congratulations, you have successfully linked your helloly domain with Jimdo. Your Jimdo website will be available under your helloly domain within 24 hours

Would you like to host your website with helloly again or create your website with the inexpensive helloly website builder?

Do you already know the helloly Website Builder? This is included in every hosting package. If you want to switch from Jimdo back to helloly, proceed as follows:

• Enter the helloly client area via my.helloly.com
• Select the desired package in the Dashboard area under Your Active Products/Services and click Log in to cPanel
  
  
  
  
• Now open the Zone Editor in the cPanel under Domains
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Manage for the desired domain in the Zone Editor
  
  
  
  
• Now click on Actions and select Reset DNS Zone
  
  
  
  

• A warning now appears: “If you reset your zone file, all changes you have made to your zone data records will be deleted. The system will attempt to retain the TXT entries. However, we recommend that you make a note of all the entries you wish to save. Do you really want to delete all entries and reset to the default?”

  If you have made any other changes apart from the changes for Jimdo, make a note of them before you click Next.

• Switch back to the cPanel by clicking on Tools

• Scroll to Domains and click on Redirects
• Scroll to Current Redirects and delete the previously created redirect by clicking on Delete
  
  
  
  
• You have now successfully reset your settings and can host your website via helloly again or use the website builder.
