Who owns the domain?

Who owns the domain? Whois query!

Since the introduction of the GDPR, personal data about the owner is no longer publicly available.

Until then, the Whois query was a useful tool for obtaining information about the owner of a domain, the domain registrar and other relevant details. The Whois query provided comprehensive information on the domain entered. This included the domain owner, the registrar, the creation date of the domain, the expiration date and more.

Due to the General Data Protection Regulation, only technical or general information about the domain is usually displayed. This can be the following data:

  • Name server of the domain
  • Last modification date
  • Date of domain registration
  • Contact to the provider/registrar
