How do I create a subdomain with redirection?

Create subdomain

1. Log in to the client area at https://my.helloly.com.

2. Within the Dashboard you will find Your Active Products/Services.

3. Select the desired product and click on Webhosting Login.

4. In the Domains section click on Domains.

5. You will now see all domains, subdomains and redirects. To create a new subdomain, click on the blue button Create A New Domain.

6. Enter the subdomain you want to create – e.g. "subdomain.yourdomain.xyz" – into the Domain field

7. ⚠️ Important: Deactivate the Share document root function. Note: If you do not specify a directory, a directory with the name of the subdomain is automatically created in the public_html folder. In our example, this would be: public_html/subdomain.yourdomain.xyz

8. Create the subdomain by clicking on the blue button Submit.

Please note: It takes approx. 30 minutes until your subdomain is accessible on the Internet.

Create Redirect

1. Withing the cPanel, navigate to the Domains section and click on Redirects.

2. Select the type of the redirection.

3. From the drop-down menu https?://(www.)? select the desired subdomain.

4. In the following input field / you can also redirect a specific directory of the subdomain if you wish.

5. Enter the desired destination address including the protocol (http:// or https://) into the Redirect to field

6. The funtion www redirection let's you specify your redirection in greater detail.

7. Finally, create the redirect by clicking on Add.

8. ⚠️ Important: Clear your browser cache before testing your redirection.
